On April 14, 2025, Water Department employees began distributing notices of a temporary water disconnection for areas north of the Bass Building on Weld Road. This includes portions of Weld Road, Woodland Avenue, Doak Street, Applewood and Applegate, North Pond Road, and a handful of properties on Orchard Drive.
This disconnection is necessary to accommodate the ongoing water line project. Contractor Pratt and Sons will be installing a T-pipe intersection onto the main on Weld Road to allow for further construction. To complete this work, the water line from the treatment plant must be temporarily isolated during the changeover.
The work is scheduled for Thursday, April 17, and in an effort to minimize inconvenience, the shutdown will not begin until approximately 8:00 AM. The Water Department apologizes for any inconvenience and will be working closely with Pratt and Sons to restore service as quickly as possible.
