The Wilton Free Public Library is located in the foothills of western Maine, alongside Wilson Stream in downtown Wilton.

The Library, which serves the communities and citizens of the Wilton, Dryden, East Wilton, and East Dixfield was incorporated in 1901 as The Wilton Free Public Library Association.

Although it is significantly subsidized by the Town of Wilton, the Library remains a private, non-profit corporation.

We are proud to be a Family Place Library, emphasizing services and collections for young parents and their children.

  • Need a friend? We do! It is a lot of work to operate this public facility and the staff has its hands full with all the technical details of daily operations. There are a myriad support tasks large and small that also need doing, and this is where the Friends of the Library come in. Ask us how you can help!
